New Year’s Eve 2013 - 2014
I wanted to make this New Year’s
Eve the best one we have had in a while.
After all, the last three January’s, My Little Lovebug
was…well…little! Now, he’s at a good age
where he really understands what is going on.
Therefore…I give you…our New Year’s Evening…
1. Snacks
– Our appetizers included chips and dip, spinach dip with sour dough bread and
mozzarella and tomato drizzled with chocolate infused balsamic vinegar.
2. Games
and Crafts – We played Chutes and Ladders, which My Little Lovebug won…as he
always legitimately does! We made beaded bracelets for our craft.
3. Video
2013 – I thought it would be fun to record a little message from My Little
Lovebug, which includes just a few of his favorite things…obviously you can
tell that staying up late with no nap had started taking a toll on him!
4. Yummy
Dinner – Big Daddy Lovebug made 2 of my favorite dishes in the world (of course
they are my favorite – they are from Disney World!) General Tao’s Chicken from the China Pavilion
in Epcot and Garlic Noodles from ‘ohana in the Polynesian Resort. Served with a little white rice and BAM! What a final meal to end 2013 with!!!
5. Dance
Party – We cranked up the tunes and just went wild in our living room –
dancing, jumping, singing, boogying, spinning…all the while laughing and just
enjoying each other!
6. Toast
and Balloon Drop – Ok, I admit it, we cheated a little…we counted down alright
– at 10:30 PM!!! We toasted with milk
and whipped cream and had 14 balloons drop all over him! He LOVED IT!!! Happy New Year!!! And then to bed!
After party – Since My Little
Lovebug fell asleep in like 20 seconds, it allowed us to clean up from dinner
and relax until 11:50 when my parents dropped by! We watched the ball drop in Times Square (on
television, of course) and gave our first New Year’s kiss. My Little Lovebug’s first New Year’s kiss
would come the next morning. With
pancakes and mimosas (just orange juice for him!) for breakfast!
So, because it IS a new year, I
suppose some resolutions are in order…
·
Every week, probably on Saturday nights, Big
Daddy and I alternate and create a brand new meal, something we have never made
before. We stick to a set budget for
that week.
·
Healthy eating habits…again!!! I always do so well until September, then I
slip into the school/holidays bad way of eating.
·
Less time on computer/phone…man, is it
addicting.
·
Less soda/less chocolate – I cut out soda a few
years ago, but recently, I started drinking a little too much again.
·
Create a budget worksheet – again, something I
usually start at the beginning of the year and phase out by the middle.
Whooo hoooo! Happy New Year 2014!!!
